The Musings of a Writer

Cultural Engagement

Throughout the course of the Apprenticeship, the MAMW Department desires the student to focus on the process of becoming a world artist who can confidently engage others with different belief systems and lifestyles. The student should expand their reach to groups with different value systems, cultural backgrounds, and worldviews to compassionately share the love of Christ.

Because I desire to interact with my neighbors I will:

Invest in our Little Library

Because I desire to invest in the tween girls of our local church I will:

Host a girl’s bible study

In order to execute these relational goals I will do the following:

Little Library

  • Reset books each Friday
  • Create a bookmark to place in each book
  • Write a short book review weekly to post on my website and facebook page

Girls’ Bible Study

  • Prepare for weekly study
  • Craft emails for moms
  • Send out postcards to girls who are participating
  • Lead weekly group

The following materials and resources will provide assistance in meeting these goals:

  1. https://littlefreelibrary.org
  2. https://mytruegirl.com/onlinebiblestudies/ and Lori Zettler, children’s pastor

I will MEASURE SUCCESS by:

  • Books donated and  borrowed
  • Hosting a bible study to completion; stronger relationships with the girls and their greater understanding of God’s word

Artifacts:

Blog and Facebook posts, Completed bible study.
